Hey SA... any update on your lathe acquisition?

Supposedly the lathe stand is to be in today. I guess those 6-year old Chinese kids are working a little slow now a days! Or maybe they went union:laughing:. Soon as things are ready for pickup, I'll take a trip to Bellingham to pick it all up.

Wife and I took a road trip up to Bellingham, and picked up the lathe. Got it in place, leveled, and anchored down this morning.

Congratulations... you will be busy playing till late in the evening now, won't you? Are those your leveling shims? Are the feet adjustable? How much does that mother weigh? :cool2:

I had to make the feet. I used some 1/4" thick aluminum flatbar, some flat washers, and brass shim stock to level the lathe.

Shield Arc (and others) if you've never read or heard of "The Machinists Bedside Reader' I highly recommend the series of books. Great ideas, and easy to read in a short stories type format.

Congrats SA! It won't be long B4 you'll be wondering how I got along this far without one! And welcome to the world of buying lathe tooling. It never ends! BTW, did it come with any tooling? You're going to love that quick change.
