No I didn't experience engine over heating but this is something worth monitoring. Yesterday I mowed for two hours and headed back up to the barn and my wife was pointing and waving her arms as I pulled up. She had seen the grill appeared to be completely occluded with debris from the mowing. When I shut the engine off 99% of the debris just fell to the ground in a heap. The outside air temp was below 70 degrees and the engine was not over heating, it might be well to keep an eye on temp if you're mowing with high outside temp or long hours without shutting off the engine and allowing the debris to fall off.

Yeah not uncommon on any tractor mower specially with dry mowing my father runs yanmar engines in Dixie chopper least once a month or so he or I blow them out to get dust grass off the cover and in the radiator

I blow off debris after every mowing.

What model tractor do you have?

Nothing in your profile.

The tractor is a 1026R, this is my smallest tractor and just for light work around the "yard"

This has been an ongoing problem with our 2305, I had hopped the 1026R was different. We have to stop and blow ours off often after less than an hour and is now in the shop again. I quit using it and now my wife and grand son use it.

If the 1 series is like my 2320, don't over react. Mine has two screens, the one in the grille you can see and an inner one over the radiator. There is a good separation between the two, and when the outer one gets plugged, a lot of air still gets through to the radiator. I make sure I clean it after I mow, but I don't worry about while I'm mowing.
