I was at the Deere dealer last week and was looking at the new seats on the X series and saw that they used the same hinge-pin design as my '94 LX178. I have been meaning to get a new seat and liked the two piece, open design of the new seats. And it fits easily. Bad part is that it set me back $130. Oh well.

Butt :) you'll be happy, right?

I like that open design, too; crud seems to collect in the closed ones.

I wasn't that worried about crud...I just wanted more "ventilation" for my rear-end.

Some of us spend a lot of hours on these machines. A comfy seat can make a big difference in how your back feels after 3 or 4 hours of cutting grass.

Looks great. The seat on mine was torn and I was too cheap to spend the money they wanted for a new seat, or even new seat cover. I ended up getting a seat for $40 or $50 I think it was and modified it to fit.

I hope that seat holds up better than mine, I have an '06 X320 with that new seat style and the sides of the seat cracked and now has rips in it. Less than 2 yrs use. The vinyl is very thin. Others have had the same problem. Here's a pic someone posted on another board. mine is getting worse everytime I use it.
