Kioti RX7320PC, Ford 8N, Allis WD
New guy here! Supposed to get a new RX7320PC delivered this week. Been waiting quite a while for something bigger with a loader! Coming from an 8N and a WD so this will be quite a change. I'm assuming it will pull an 8 foot box blade just fine? But should I go with a 7 foot just to stay closer to width of tractor? Not many hills here so I don't expect to set the tires wider or anything. I have a small pond to get rid of and turn into a horse riding arena for my wife. After that it would be used for maintenance of arena, general pasture gulley maintenance, driveway maintenance (infrequent), or just as ballast for loader. No real woods to go through with it. We'll probably pick up an arena specific implement at some point. Probably going with 7 foot, but wanted to check in. Thanks in advance!

I would not go with an 8 footer. Either an 84" or 88" unit as heavy as you can afford. Do you plan on getting hydraulic actuated rippers?
If you plan on doing a lot of grading, I highly recommend a top & tilt set as pictured for the 3pt hitch. It sure makes adjustments easy and can be made while moving vs having to stop the tractor, get off and manually make them each time. That gets old real quick.

Enjoy the new tractor.

Congratulations on the new tractor, and welcome to TBN!

I agree with Brian on size. Yes, your RX would handle an 8 ft BB just fine, but that is a very wide BB that would significantly affect your maneuverability, as compared to a 7 footer. Especially if you'll be using it for ballast during all your loader work, but also when just doing routine grading and maintenance. I think you'd be much happier with a medium to heavy duty 7 footer, 750 lbs or heavier.

Have you ordered rear remotes with your RX? I think you're really going to want two sets, so you can have top 'n tilt cylinders with whatever BB you end up with.

I was thinking the 7 foot was the way to go, for sure now. Ordered it with all three remotes, and planning on the top and tilt. Looking at a box blade that's in the upper 800 lb range, so that's good. No hydraulic rippers, saving that for a future welding/hydraulic project on whatever I end up with. Supposed to get it Thursday or Friday, but we'll see how the weather and roads are.

I have an old Gill Woods 7 foot 1100 pound blade for mine and it works well. After having used it in very hard dry ground I think an 8 footer would be a little much.

I run a 7 foot box-scrapper on a Kioti NX6010 with loaded tires without a problem. Your tractor is much heavier, but make sure you get RimGuard in all four tires for maximum Scooche while using the digger-wigger.

WoW!! Are you in for a really pleasant experience. A brand new and BIGGER tractor. I would go with the seven footer @ 800+ pounds. It's plenty heavy and wider than your rear wheels. Put RimGuard in those rear tires also.

Remember - there is always a plastic surgeon around to get that silly grin off your face. Enjoy, man, enjoy!!

Not sure what's available right now price-wise at 800 lbs, but I wouldn't necessarily make that the magic threshold for your tractor and the uses you mention. E.g., the Woods/Gannon BSM84 is 750 lbs, and very well made. Rated as "medium duty" by Woods, 40-65 hp, but I think they're being quite conservative. Only about $1400 new.

I'll probably cave on the rimguard at some point, but going to try and avoid it for now. I know it's not as bad as calcium, but I'm still hesitant. Looking at some cast weights for the wheels even though to that's not as heavy.

Apparently I need to learn to use a box blade. I always take too big of a bite with the smaller one I have for the old 8N. I think I got better with it, been a while.

Thanks, I decided to go all in! Been waiting a while to get something like this. So much 12V converting and rewiring and welding stuff and cleaning spark plugs and loose steering and point adjusting and crappy brakes and no live PTO and no loader and getting stung by bees and and and lol! I plan to enjoy it A LOT!
