I finally got the chance to try out my grader.
It is 60" wide and 54" long. The blades are square to the sides and
24" appart. It weighs 550 lbs. or 110 lbs per foot of width.
I set it up with a slack chain for the top link and let it set
all the way down on the road. This way it will follow the road contour.

I was very happy with the results. Very easy to use compared to my blade.
Here are some pictures.

I especially liked the way it mixed the gravel. Here are some shots of the
work it did. The before and after pictures dont show half of it.

I have a rear blade only. I will still need to use it for any major
reshaping or recrowning work.
I am hoping that I can use my grader as a "sort-of" box
blade. If a swing the tailgate up and over to the front so that it rests
against the two stop pins it will capture and drag material. The box
is to big to fill up for my 30 hp tractor so when I have enough
accumulated material in the box I will have to lift the blade leaving
the back end in contact with the ground and move the material to the
desired spot. The chain top link allows this.
This is only theory - I have not tried it yet.

Looks good. I am surprised that it works so good with the chain top link. I would have thought that the front blade would dig in and the whole unit would just tilt forward.

Glad that it works well for you, be sure to post more pictures of it working. Your place sure is in a nice setting. More pictures are welcome.

Looks great. I bet that driveway will never be rutted or pot-holed again. I like the chain for top link. It probably gives it the float it needs.

That's quite a trail. :D

Now if you pack it well with tire runs before it has a chance to dry out, it will hold together for a good long time.

Thanks for the comments everybody!

MtnView-
I apreciate your anylasis - dont be shy about making suggestions !
The rear end does come up if I hook a rock and at times I could see
a tendancy for the rear to act light but I wasnt smart enough to see
the connection between that and the lack of a solid top link.
I was to excited about how well it was working.
In general, however, it stayed flat. The sides are only 12" high
with low lift arm attachment points so I dont have as big a lever to
rotate it forward as on your big units. Maybe thats why I get away with it.

I have one section of road that is very hard that I havent tried yet.
I am thinking I may need a solid top link pulled up short to get all the
weight on the front blade to cut it. Time will tell.

Like any tool it will take me some time to find the most effective
ways to use it
