Well, I have been hanging around the Kubota forum for a little while. I am a John Deere guy, but the JD dealers I have tried in Texas sure are not what I am used to in Western New York. Still waiting to get quotes they promised me??? Anyways I now have two Kubotas and just one nice green push mower left. I am very found of JD Industrial Yellow also having a JD450C crawler and JD301-A in the past. Well the new L3800 showed up today. It was a longer wait than initially anticipated, 7 weeks and a day, but I was in no real hurry for it. Came from Barlow's and Brady seems like a great guy. I was able to save quite a bit compared to the local dealers, even the one I bought my ZD323 from a couple of years ago. Well it has been almost two and half years without a tractor and I am thrilled to have one again. I tried out the HLA forks on a pile of pine branches that possibly had a rattle snake in or near. Put the bucket back on and while putting the ratchet rake on, noticed hydraulic fluid spraying out a fitting. Shut it down and found a fitting very loose. Tightened it up and checked all the other fittings on the tractor. Fired it back up and heard the strain of the hydrostat. No fluid showing in the site glass. Bummer :( Had 0.2 hours of fun anyway. I have Kubota UDT around, but no Super UDT. I know they are compatible but my thoughts were to wait and get some Super UDT tomorrow. I guess I will start working on my projects soon and try to post some. Thanks to everyone on this forum for making it such a great tool for shopping and comparing tractors. 1savoy,

Great looking machine. Hope it gives you much satisfaction over the years!

I'm getting one too; your situation has convinced me to purchase the UDT fluid for my 50hr. change on the day I get the tractor!

Thanks guys!! I think it will be a nice machine for many years and I am glad I chose this tractor. Overkill for my small place, but I guess I would not want a smaller machine than this from what I am used to. Familyman, I have been watching your threads but did not have much to add since mine was not here yet. The 38 hp seems nice for the short time I used it. Tires are loaded and the 66" bucket, plus BH. 32 hp probably would be fine, but I guess it is nice to have a few extra just in case. Ya, it is always good to have fluid around. I need to get some extra to have on hand for these occasions.

Congratulations in regards to your new Tractor purchase. As you previously stated, it is always a good idea to have extra supplies around. I try my best to keep extra oil, fluids, and grease around, just in case. Best wishes and I sincerely hope that you enjoy many hours of Seat Time on your new Tractor.

I was told that new Kubotas are shipped with UDT not Super UDT. Does anyone know if that is correct?

Looks good. Great color! Unless it has changed they ship with SUDT or the new SUDT. While your waiting will be a good time to check all fluids and bolts. I've found an occassional loose bolt over the years.

Congratulations on your new tractor, as mentioned, always a good idea to keep fluids and such around. My dealer doesn't keep SUDT in stock, so it has to be ordered.

John Thomas, That is good info and I need to go over the whole machine. My ZD had the lower radiator hose rubbing the fan belt and after a few hours of use had antifreeze leaking all over. I guess I am two for two with Kubota leaks early on :) The ZD has been awesome since then as I am sure the L3800 will be.
