New record for the most number of combines in one field.

Last Saturday, October 6, a new world record for the most combines in one field was set locally near the Town of Dalmeny, just outside of Saskatoon. Unoficialy 249 combines were working. Here's a few photos from the local paper taken at the event but I also wanted to post a couple of pics of my buddy and his Cockshutt 30 tractor pulling his trailer. We whipped up the railing on it one day so he could safely haul people around from the parking area to where the main action was.

This summer he is having a fence painting contest on his farm.

Very interesting. I would like to have read more on the story; i.e., how many trucks did they have running, how did they coordinate the unloading, how big was the field and how long did it take to finish, acres cut per hour, etc.

I had the dubious pleasure of joining a harvest crew back in the early 60's; at that time we had two open-cockpit, 14 foot Gleaners. I recall how insignificant it felt to pull the two tiny combines into a Kansas wheatfield that was one square mile in size, and bounded on all sides by similar fields.
