One reason not to let your new dog use an old feather comforter for a bed.

Sorry about the size, first time putting a picture in and I thought I had reduced it down, also I was tring to put it with the other dog pic's and instead started a whole new post instead of adding to one. Tom

Hey thats a good one. Here's a puppy story. We got our first dog together in Maryland. Well a puppy will be a puppy and started chewing shoes. Never mine but always my wife's shoes. Boy would she get mad of course and it was always my fault that her shoes got chewed up. It made her even madder when I would leave my shoes out and the dog would never touch them.(Not that I would ever do anything like that!!!!/w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif)
The moral of the story: Never leave your shoes out with a puppy in the house or put the shoes in the closet were they belong!!!
P.S. That was one expensive puppy!!!!/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Alan,

I hear where your coming from. When one of our current dogs was a pup, she went for the shoes and the normal stuff that pups do. We have always had dogs and have gotten used to that part of a new one, but when this one chew up a new leather sofa ($4000) it was tough. I sure am glad she has turned out to be a good dog, cause she sure was an expensive pup.

Brings back rotten memories! Had a pup that chewed shoes but was trained not to...unfortunately the pup just traded chewing objects, he started chewing the wires under the fender wells of the vehicles. The first to suffer damage was my pickup, then the car...had to rewire turnsignals tail-lights etc. Dog wound up in a pen, after being evicted from the backyard when the kids couldn't keep him from chewing up toys. Finally found a new home for him about fifteen miles away....he came back home 4 days later. Took about a year and a half, but he finally stopped the chewing business, and got on with another 14 years of living before we lost him. Well worth the overall cost when he outgrew his chewing stage.
