Bob, I'm sure that could happen, and I know there are certain recommendations to keep water out of some particular places, but I've been washing my car and pickup engines for 50 years and I pretty regularly washed my tractors, engine and all. I'm sure there are plenty of people who would say I'm doing it wrong, but the only place under the hood that I avoid shooting water is the air intake. The one "precaution" I take is that I run the car, pickup, or tractor for awhile after washing under the hood to get it warm enough to dry everything out. And so far, the only problem I've ever had was when I washed the engine on my '70 Oldsmobile at one of the coin operated car wash places, didn't notice the little door for adjusting the dwell was open on the distributor and got water in the distributor. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif Even that didn't take me long to find and correct.
