Hope someone can help. I installed aftermarket power steering on a Ford 3000 and bled the system, but I still have no movement at all of the cylinder. The system consists of a gear driven pump mounted to the engine, and a cylinder that pulls and pushes on a pitman arm, so it's very simple. The cylinder on this system has a built in control lever that extends and retracts the cylinder when the steering rod pushes or pulls on it. I unhooked the steering rod from the control so I could verify the lever moves ok, which it does. Tried unscrewing the lever a few turns to get more travel, still the cylinder won't move. Verified oil is in the reservoir, cracked open the cylinder lines and fresh oil comes out. I extended and retracted the cylinder by hand a few times to bleed it. Seems like I should have at least some motion by now. I was thinking of unscrewing the lever to look for debris blocking oil flow, but I have no parts manual to tell me what's inside. Please post your ideas on what to try next.

Try getting in touch with the seller/manufacturer or dealer.

Use a pressure gage to see if the pump is working, pressure maybe around 1500 to 2000 psi. Check to see if you reversed the supply hoses.

It's one of the Turkish aftermarket kits, tried contacting the manufacturer twice but got no reply. I checked to make sure all was plumbed per the diagram. I did have one person suggest swapping the pressure and return hose routing on the cylinder- not sure if this was to backflush any debris out or just rule out that I had originally hooked them up wrong. I haven't tried this yet because I don't know if this would damage anything. Would like to pressure test pump, just need to find a gage I can rent or borrow since funds are l limited.

G'day i would srart by swapping your hoses cost you nothing and should not do any damage, if no joy then you may want to invest in a gauge. Have you tried speaking to the person you bought it off or did you import directly??
