Hello all.

I am shopping for a new tractor. Part of the decision is to give up the subframe plow with hydraulic angle and go to a FEL setup (Curtis) with a WR long remote.

Does anybody have experience with this setup? I am hard pressed to change if it isnot better.

thoughts?

I have not used the Curtis brand, but I had two tractors set up this way to plow with.

I did not care for them because the added length gave the plow too much leverage to move the tractor from side to side when the plow was angled and I was pushing a heavy load. My tractors were in the 30HP range, so it might be OK with a heavier rig.

As you can see from my avatar I now have the plow hooked directly to the tractor. I find this setup to work much better for my use.

I had an L3130 with the sub-frame set-up,ok but limited lift was a problem and loss of FEL.Easier on the tractor for sure.I traded tractors moved up to a L4240 HSTC(6500lbs),built a Fel mounted Curtis plow set-up.I really like this set-up,can change to the bucket in minutes(with QA),can pile snow 9ft.high if needed.
The plow is definately further out front, may affect a lighter tractor more.
I run a rear blade also for snow removeal.
