This is a new model for PJ and comes standard with a 7'x16'x3' 7 gauge bed, 20k GVW. Probably more trailer than a home owner would need, however, I haul commercial so bigger is better. My current trailer is a Lamar 7'x16'x3' 7 gauge floor, 16k GVW. I will keep it as my secondary unit and sold my Load Trail 7'x16'x2' 10 gauge, 14k GVW trailer.

I live in a somewhat remote area so it is hard to look at trailers. I have to rely on manufactures web sites, stocking dealers and forums for my research. I think for the money this will be a good heavy duty trailer. I have found that over the years with my dumps and flatbeds it is hard to find a trailer without some faults. If we could combine about 4 manufactures into one....

Here is a link to the build and dealer options. I also added primer, power up/down and gravity down unit with two batteries. I wanted the telescopic cylinder and the 36" steps but they don't offer them yet, in the DE model. I have a wireless remote on my Lamar but am less than satisfied with it, so I ordered from parts, a 25' cord for the standard hand held remote for this trailer. I do a lot of cinders/gravel spreading on roads/driveways, so it requires a second helper to trip the gate and control the bed lift to get a smooth delivery. A short cord or intermittent wireless remote don't get it.

Does your driver get to pull this one with the new truck you are getting her? Gotta keep her happy!

:D I get this one, she got the Load Trail when it was new. She is a light duty driver with a light duty truck so the Lamar will work fine. It has been a good trailer and is heavy duty in every way but the lift capacity. Even tho it has a 6" HD lift it is mounted dead center of the bed. The Load Trail with a 5" lift would out lift it, due to the fact the hoist was mounted 2' ahead of center. It appears in pictures, the new DE is mounted the same way, so that is a real plus. Now if the dump industry would get a clue and install higher volume pumps with the 6" cylinder....they are soooo slow.

Still looking for a newer pickup for her but dang they hold their value. Even in the '12-'14 range they are expensive or high mileage.

Picture of my haul trucks when I still had the Big Tex 14LX.

Looks like a good trailer. Let us know how you like it and post some pics when you get it.

Thanks, I will. They told me 8 weeks lead time with 6 weeks down, so maybe soon. The Lamar was 11 weeks and I was told 6 weeks, so....It will be a factory pickup, not sure yet if I will go get it or if I have it shipped. Sumner, Texas is about 950 miles from here.

Your old ford is still one of the coolest builds ever!

I am building a trailer that size, to be hauled by my tractor...

Looks like a well built trailer: 17.5 inch truck (mean big rig) tires last three times as long as light commercial vehicle tires, and tri axle torsion axles just dont work: whether you steer around a kerb or a stump, its 2 against one, so allways a swing arm bent on those things. On a tandem, its one against one, an equal fight ;)

I just bought a PJ yesterday. It's a smaller one. It's a 7K 5x10. I chose it over some less expensive brands because it's clearly well designed.

My new trailer showed up last night, I am already irritated at PJ and I haven't even looked at it yet :D The jacks (pro series, not bulldog) sound like a pig eating marbles and you can barely crank the handle. You can't tell me someone at the plant didn't feel/hear them. I hope it is just lacking grease because they are welded on. I will take more pictures in the day light.

The newer Jack's on semi trailers sound like that and are hard to turn compared to the older ones. The noise on them is the shaft between them in high range because it turns so fast it rattles. But they go up and down much faster in high than the older ones. I don't even notice it anymore on my new trailer at work.
