Mahindra MAX 28XL
Just picked up one of the last few Max 28XL's just as they are gearing up for Tier 4 Final (Then it becomes 26XL). Got the thing loaded with all you see plus BH thumb and rear remotes, including 5ft Box blade, and trailer mover. Out the door and delivered with 0.9hrs on the clock for $27,100 to my driveway 1.5hrs away, heck, they even pick it up for the first major service for free. The dealer is awesome and received $800 back in rebates! Already ordered "The Thumb" for the loader, having cleared about 1/2 an acre already, it's needed. I'm incredibly happy with my purchase. A little nitpicking on line routing and rubbing, but gonna wrap the vulnerable ones with anti-chafe loom. Cheap insurance to avoid issues down the road. Just hit 10hrs yesterday and really put it through its' paces just after breaking (which I didn't baby it either). One thing to note...I'm weird, but I like to run-in the hydro right off the bat. Tossed into high range and took a nice drive for a few miles varying the pedal and changing the loads. Made a decent difference in drivetrain noise in my case. YMMV...but it was a nice day for a cruise...lol!

Dealer had it in the parts catalog. He placed the order for the thumb, remotes, and service manual. Took a few business days via truck from Texas.

Great tractor. We mow a lot with ours. Implements are really easy to put on and take off. Have fun!

What a nice, complete package of a tractor. You'll certainly get your money's worth with this.

What a fantastic setup. Love the thumb. I have about 115 hours on my max 22 and. I have not been shy with it. It has been really everything and more that I had hoped. The 28 should be that much more! Great machine, congratulations.

How is your deck suspended with the backhoe on? Also did yours come with mmm/backhoe/loader all installed from the factory?

Yes, all installed from the factory.
The deck is raised to it's max position and pinned at the rear frame. Since it needs the links installed to raise and lower it, it's fixed at one height. It operates fine if you like your lawn at 4in;) I might design a pair of small actuators to raise and lower it via the pivot points that would usually use the lift arms...who knows...lol, project for another day;)

Thanks. I actually saw that the other day and thought that's what it could be for, just need to take the backhoe off. I'm planning on making a rolling stand for it.

Still have a few projects to do. Armrests and lighting are after the stand.

Hi all - not to hijack thread here, but I too have new Max 28, no MMM but do have BH. It is very probable that I am missing the boat, but I am surprised that the lower (3-point) lift arms must be removed to mount / use BH! Once I cut the zip ties from lower arms I thought Hum.... where's the moutning point for these while BH is on! I even noticed one of our fellow Max 25 friends on here had the lowers and BH on - perhaps the difference between the 25 vs. 28? Am I missing the obvious or have you MAX 28 guys found a creative method!?!? THANKS!

Realize this post is almost 2 years old, but if you're still on TBN, can you provide some more insight on how you groom that driveway? I just got a 26XL with a FEL and box scraper and would appreciate any insights you have on maintaining a long gravel driveway... have a 1/4 mile, sloping and twisting one myself that's fairly rutted from rain the past few years.

I just took delivery of a max26 last month and must be some new stuff. There is a "cross T" if you will that pins to my tow bar for the lift arms to pin too for bh. Mmm height is controlled via the 3 point lift arms

Redinrush, I have not looked at the newer models since I bought my Max 28. Could you post a picture of this cross T. I would like to see if it is something I can add.
Thanks,

Been awhile lol,

Take the tines off the box blade, the key is to use the top link to adjust the box blade for the correct cutting edge pitch. Most will have two cutting edges, one toward the inside of the box facing forward and one trailing edge facing back. Adjust the tilt until the blade on the front facing forward is just slightly above the ground, talking like 1/4in or there abouts. You want the rear blade to do the smoothing. So when it's set up correctly, the front facing cutting edge shaves the high spots and the rear cutting edge smooths and fills the low. Be careful of pushing with the box blade in that position because it will gouge the ground when going in reverse, not to mention it will put a great deal more stresses on the 3-point as it's designed for pulling not as a dozer.
