New Orleans on Film

Well done chronology of events.

I did find it interesting that they posted all the pictures of people looting and saying how bad that was... then breaking into multiple vehicles so they could steal one to get out of town.

They should have broken into (or been offerred) the busses to drive a bunch out of town......but more and more, the ones that wanted to leave probably did leave.
The ones that looked at it as an opportunity to raid the houses of their neighbors and the stores, probably stayed for just that purpose.
Just a guess. The media paints the most shocking picture it can paint, always has and always will......

I recall years back seeing the flooded pictures of Phoenix, AZ. Nothing but rooftops of cars showing in the pics. I had a business trip that took me to Phoenix, delayed one day due to the airport getting back on line. When we landed, everyone including myself was rubbernecking out the windows to see the flooding. Hmmmm? none to be seen. Then along the wide river bed of sand, could be seen the indications of where the water had been high, and then in view came the junk yards of old cars in that riverbed - those were what was shown as being underwater in the media pics. They were not truthful one bit, but they did get the shock value across to many people around the world.
