Mine also starts the same. I bet if the egr was removed and the timing bumped up a few degrees it would start up normal.

I thought the 5240/5740/5100 all shared the same engine and emission equipment, i'm not positive though. The 5240 definately has egr unfortunately.

Maybe so now. My 2009 5100 has no EGR.
