New mower

I am looking for a new mower and have read on here a lot about John Deeres. I was wondering does John Deere make their own mowers or does another company build for them. Thanks in advance. JJJ

I think the key question here is, "Do they design their own lawn tractors, or rebadge another manufacturers machine." They may outsource the manufacture, I don't know, but I do believe they design their own and if someone else builds them, they are built to JD specs.

I don't know if the factories are JD factories or not. I suspect it depends on the model, just like it does in the larger CUTs and Ag tractors.
