What an amazing resource! Wish I'd found this forum half a dozen years ago.. Impressed by Cub's ad copy talking up it's heavier gauge steel frame I bought my 1st riding mower, a brandy new Cub Cadet. Within a year that Cub was throwing belts with every use. I was mad enough to spit nails.

Starting to warm up here in middle TN. Took a look at the yard and realized after 5yrs of paying a service to mow, I had way more weeds than grass coming up. Can't aerate and prepare w/o a lawn tractor, so I found a decent deal at the nearby Sears outlet. Waiting for a Husky YTH24K48D to get delivered. 'Course I didn't find the forum until I'd already paid my money, duh. Too late to ask for recommendations now...

Reading up on how to keep the new mower up & running I stumbled across the epic K46 rebuild thread started by LotsofGreenGrass. I'm just knocked out. I'm looking forward to taking advantage of the forum's experience & advice to keep the new Husky "on the road".

Thx in advance,
Dan in TN

Appreciate all the Welcomes! Nice place.

But, the more I peruse TBN the more I realize this is a REAL tractor forum! I'm pleased to have a really nice tractor show associated w/ a nearby county fair. but that's as close as I'm gonna find myself to REAL tractors. (Okay, I'm pretty close to Chapel Hill's big tractor pull also, that's big fun) Feeling kinda silly getting excited about a "lawn tractor".. Like I'd posted about my new RC plane on a DC3 forum.
:duh:

Quite alright, glad to have you join us. I have gotten a lot of use and taken pride in my lawn tractors as well. I owned a Sears 10 horse which faithfully mowed my rather large yard for 16 years, then a 12.5 Craftsman I have used for 30.... though it's used very seldom, relegating the duties to the Hustler these days.
