I was about to pull the trigger on a Workmaster 75 when the salesman, whom I've known for several years, mentioned a "new" model coming out in '13 or so. He said the new model will have shuttle shift and straight rear axles to replace the planetary the current model has. I hate to buy a new 20k tractor that will be outdated or updated in a year. Anyone heard anything?

yes they, (NH) is suppose to be adding the shuttle to the work master 65 and 75 like the 45 and 55 already have. the axle is a possibilty as well.....tranny for sure.....that way the series is all the same....

Isn't the current model with inboard planetaries? If they go to a straight axle with no planetaries it could be a step backwards (cheaper design). And who knows what the new price will be, newer emissions, etc. Or how long it will take, with NH timelines tend to slip. I would say if you like that tractor without the shuttle and can use it now, then go ahead and buy it if the price is right.

Use the fact that a new model is coming out to drive the price of todays' purchase lower. You can say you are helping to make room for the new models.

Well I'm not sure of the terminology, inboard planetary, outboard planetary, or straight axle. But I would prefer the rearend like the X000, X600, X610, XX30 series had. It may not be called a "straight axle" but it looks simpler and stronger than the current set up on the Workmaster 75. Especially if I'm adding 1500lbs of RimGuard Ballast to the 16.9 x 30 tires. I'm not looking for cheap, cheap cheap, cheap, just as much bang for my buck as I can get. The shuttle transmission is not available on the current 75 but if it is on the "New" model for a few dollars more, good deal. If it comes with a fully synchro transmission not the 3-4/7-8 that it has now, even better. I'm just looking for some details on what the "New" model might consist of.

Rumor has it that in 2013 New Holland is to replace the Workmaster 65 and 75 with a shuttle type transmission similar to the Workmaster 45 and 55. With that being said the actual day they show up on dealers lot is hard to predict.

Thanks Fastcars63 for the info. I'm just as to what the new model might consist of, sheet metal change, transmission choices, axle changes, larger model, etc. I was hoping somone might have seen a brochue or a news release.
