New MK Martin Snow Blowers

Hi Guys,

I am looking at possibly purchasing a newer snow blower - an 87" MK Martin blower. They have a five bladed fan instead of the four or older three blade fan.
Does anyone have a newer Martin blower with the five blade fan? If so how do you like it ?
Have included a link to their site. I won't be buying until next fall, but do like to do some legwork before hand.

hi i have a 51 inch meteor since 2005 on a kubota bx 1830 and i change the chaine once and same hydrolic hose on my chute and broke some shear pin and every spring i wash it and paint where the paint is gone its good enought for me and i clean 10 driveway and i clean the snow and oil the chain after each time i use it and put it back on my garage not eated thanks mario

Is it for dual auger or also for single? I have a 54" it's runs just fine with four blades. The biggest difference was when it running out of hydraulic versus pto drive. Much more power with the drive shaft and link to the mid pto.

I got a front mount Meteor that I am happy with, for now anyway. The same as the one in Phils' pic, only 60". Mine runs off the mid mount PTO.

Hi Guys,

I contacted Martin and they said that they hadn't yet gone into production with the five blade fans. They did not elaborate on what the five blade fan would be installed on - all blowers, double auger, single auger - so I am still none the wiser to date. I do know they expect to start production sometime next summer. (June, July).

I have a 2012 4 blade meteor 75 inch PTO mount blower that only throws snow 28 feet at 600 PTO rpm.

To me it is not acceptable and needs improving, try before you buy!

I HAD the same unit, wasn't impressed with the casting distance either.

you got to figure that the bigger diameter the secondstage impeller ...the more "fling" it will have , I looked at Meteor , but got worried about impeller and gear box ( do search on meteor on TBN for history on that) I did talk to Meteor Canada office (in 2012 when I bought )and they stated the shaft size problem was fixed , but the unit on the sales floor on my dealer was not dated so I went with the AgriEase . The diameter of my second stage impeller is almost 2 feet , and has four blades ..........shoots 50 feet easy depending on snow consistency.

I have a M.K. Martin 75" snowblower 2011 model and it seems to throw the snow far enough. However, I have 50hp at the PTO which might make the difference why it works better. The past Buffalo snow storm, the snowblower worked extremely well especially when the snow was was wet at the bottom. The snowblower never clogged as long as you go slow enough in those kind of conditions. When the snow is powder, the snowblower shoots the snow much farther.
