new mini tractor: which one to buy?

dear all,

First of all, congrats with this interesting forum!

I'm in doubt of buying a mini tractor , say between 40 and 50 hp. Since I'm living in Western Europe, I'm looking for one available at this market ;-)

These are the tractors I'm considering:
1. Antonio Carraro - 48 Hp
2. Deutz Agrokid 230
3. New Holland T3030
4. Ferrari 50
5. Kioti DK45S
6. Mc Cormick CT45HST
7. John Deere ?

Who's some experience with one of these? Are there other ones I have to take into consideration? Which one has the best review? I prefer an atmo diesel above a turbocharged smaller one...

I also heard some tractors are build by AgroItalia and sold as Carraro, Same,...? Also old Renaults were built in the past bij Carraro?

What is the strategy of the brands behind? Who builds which tractor? I heard also the small JD's are build bij Carraro?


Many questions, I hope some can be solved here.

If money was not an issue i would have bought a John deer 4320, but i bought a used Kioti DK45 and i am happy with it even though i bust front ring and pinon gear (my fault backing out up grade with heavy load in front bucket way to much weight). The dealer would be a big factor in buying.

I'm afraid you won't get much help with the Deutz, Carraro or Ferrari on this board as those brands are rare here in North America.

The 40-50 hp John Deeres are very well respected.

I have a 40hp DK40se Kioti which I like very much.

I'd love to have a Ferrari though.

I have owned/run many of the air cooled Deutz's from 35-135 hp and love them, but our local dealer has recently shut down due to all of farmland being converted to houses.

I currently own a JD 4120 that is great, no regrets, no problems.
