Check with the dealership. Chevy had some sort of lawsuit settlement over that engine on headgaskets....

Called the dealer, not covered since the truck was purchased in 2002, the extented warranty on the injectors and the head gaskets is 10 years or 300000km. :mur:

That's good Karl. That's (1 1/4") our severance rated cut, and is no surprise to me, since I've cut that myself. We don't try to over exaggerate our capacities. We rate it for 7/8". Severance isn't something you want to do everyday, all day, but is doable if you are patient and experienced. I've not cut with the new Trafimet S-75 torch yet, but it appears to be able to keep pace with the older Trafimet A/81. That's a stack cut too. Won't do that easily with an OxyAcetylene torch.

I had to give it a try as soon as i had it out of the box, really impressed with the 1 1/4 cut, that's not your regular mild steel, it's from an old pallet fork. I won't use it really above 1/2 inch, but if i need the extra power i'll have it. Now all i have to do is wait ( /"$??%%?* Duramax )to have enough $$$ to buy the welder. The onlything it would of liked is to have a longer torch, 15 feet is not alot, used to 30 with the miller, but the spectrum 375 couldn't do much cutting work.

That 252 is pretty large. I didn't realize how big it really was.

It's a pretty big unit, not really portable. The cart is real nice and very sturdy. I shopped around before buying, and was faced with 2 choices: Everlast MTS250 or the thermal arc 252i. What made me choose the thermal arc over the everlast; everlast canada doesn't offer any MTS models, and consumables can't be purchased locally. Now only time will tell if i made a good choice.
