Hi Everyone,

I have referenced the Forums on this site a couple times for helping to resolve some of my own Tractor Issues I have had. They have been very helpful. Now since I'm looking to sell my current Tractor and buy a Larger one, I figured now would be as good of a time as any to actually Join. Ill still have to Learn as I go how this really works, So I hope everyone can bare with me.

Don't think larger, think HEAVIER.

The most efficient way to shop for tractors is to first identify potential tractor applications, then, through consulataton, establish bare tractor weight necessary to safely accomplish your applications. Tractor dealers, experienced tractor owners and TractorByNet.com are sources for weight recommendations.

Sufficient tractor weight is more important for most tractor applications than increased tractor horsepower. Bare tractor weight is a tractor specification easily found in sales brochures and web sites, readily comparable across tractor brands and tractor models, new and used.

welcome to tbn. Was talking to a new to be owner buyer and my suggestion to anyone is first look at the work you want it to do. Look at what implements you would use and the power then require. Then be sure you buy to meet those needs. Biggest reason I think most people trade is need more power or traction (weight) but some of us trade down in size as we cut back on business or farming.
