Howdy! I purchased a used 1998 John Deere 770 compact tractor. 23 HP diesel/4 wheel drive/all the other options. So far, it has been an average tractor. Nothing outstanding and with 680 hours on it, I have used it for the last 3 years as an utility tractor on my 2 1/2 acres. Handy little tractor that leaves big ruts. I joined the forum for information. I'll be posting on the parts/repair forum. This is my first diesel and first 4-wheel drive and first tractor with a bucket. I'm hoping to hear from some of you who have had experience with the J D 770 and can give good advice on troubleshooting, fixing and helping me keep this machine safe and running. I use it most for mowing: live next to a 2400' grass runway.
