New member with Mahindra Max 25HST

I bought this tractor new in 2012 and have 68 hours on it. I'm having a problem and wondering if anyone has had a similar one and can help with the fix. The tractor starts, but will not stay running anytime until it dies. It will start right back up but then will die again and again and again. I called the dealer in my area and he said he thought it was electrical. I did check the fuel pump, and it is working just fine. Any help on what could be wrong would really be appreciated.

its a round looking cylinder thing thats mounted on the side of the engine, with wires coming from it...

It looks like it screws into the engine. Would that be correct?
