Ford 1715
I'm 65 years old, live on the West Texas plains in Lubbock, TX, and have been playing with antique and classic vehicles for a half-century.

My motorhead projects also have included several tractors. I'm not unfamiliar with them, having been raised on a dryland cotton farm and plowing with JD Model A, JD Model G, TO20 Ferguson, and MF 65 before leaving home after high school and never returning to the farming life. I've since rebuilt some 8N Fords, IH 400s, and an MF 35 and Super 90, as well as a couple of Cub Cadet garden tractors. I now have a Wheel Horse D80, complete with front loader, box blade, and tandem disc harrow, waiting on my project list

I live on an acre, with the back half devoted to my projects, and have been using a Ford 1715 compact 4X4 with a front loader and rear crane to handle the heavy stuff and, with a 6-ft. blade, keep my alley level. It looks like I eventually will be doing my own clutch job on the Ford since the New Holland dealer quoted me $2,500 to replace less than $300 in parts.

I have for some time used TractorByNet as a research resource. I decided to register tonight after doing much reading on the Ditch Witch C99 trencher I just lucked into with a trailer purchase.

The family from whom I bought the 6 X 8 trailer told me to take the trencher with it since they considered it junk. After I picked it up, I was showing it to one of my buddies and learned he was familiar with the trencher and the former owner. It has been used once since new...zero wear to chains, sprockets, digger teeth, tires, etc...then left on the trailer out in the weather The motor pulls through, and I feel certain I can have it running in relatively short order, which means after I finish the full brake job on my '62 Willys wagon.

:welcome: To the forum from another (native) Texan. Alas, New Holland has thrown us out with the wash as far as parts and service. But most other dealers and brands are outrageous as well. Take some pics of the clutch job as that's one I haven't yet tackled.

To TBN Bill. Old is just how you feel at that moment. If I let my age get in the way I wouldn't get anything done.
