Have spent alot of time here on this forum reading and researching just exactly which compact tractor would serve my needs best for the budget I am on. Have to admit, I have always been a Case/IH guy. Grew up running an 8N Ford, Case 1190, David Brown 885, and a CaseIH 585. We had a 200 acre farm back East, and both my Grandpa, Dad, and Uncle all ran cattle, had some hogs and a few horses. Moved out to Wyoming not to long ago and have to say I love it out here. Got a nice little piece of property, about 10 acres with a house and shop. Been needing me a tractor to keep up with mowing the field, pushing snow, and keeping about 2 acres of it trimmed and neat ! Like the title says, been reading alot here the past few months. Swore up and down I wouldnt own a green tractor. After a couple bad experiences with the closest CaseIH, and Kubota dealers, I found myself on a John Deere lot looking at a used Ford. Something about them there green tractors, all new and shiny that caught my eye. Will be heading back up to Miles City, Montana tomorrow and bringing home either a new JD 3005, or a 3038e, whichever one he wants to deal the best on. Got to give it to the dealers there, by far the EASIEST I have found to work with and deal with. Nothing but a good experience so far. Got me a quote on a new 3005 that impressed me to be honest. But after reading some more on here the past few nights, I may see how he will deal on a new 3038e. Just need the loader for snow removal during the winter, a 5' brush hog for keeping the field cleaned up. Its mostly flat and rolling, and a 72" finish mower to keep that just outside the yard trimmed nice and neat. Oh, im sure I will find plenty of other things to keep me busy "playing" with my new toy. So thanks for all the reading you all have provided, the information is top notch from owners, thats the best kind of information a guy can get. Will try n post some pics when we make it back with the new GREEN MACHINE !!!
