Hi All, Thanks for adding me to the community.

I am planning on buying my first tractor. The idea is that I will use my free time, and the tractor, to take care of 5 acre field (mainly olive trees) myself instead of hiring others to do the job for me.
And while doing my 'homework' and searching the web to learn about tractors, I discovered this website. I find it very interesting and helpful and members are knowledgeable. Hopefully one day soon I will return the favor and o help others myself.

During the last two years approximately 250 acres of olive trees have been planted near me in Florida. I do not know how profitable this will be for the farmers, however it has been an interesting project to watch. Olives are grown in California commercially but as far as I know these new groves on several parcels in Florida are the first attempt at commercial olive production on the East Coast.

Solar arrays are also taking over some agricultural land. Now 1,400 acres of solar panels constructed and owned by Duke Energy in Gilchrist County, Florida. Two arrays of about 700 acres each.

Happy new year To all of you. I am thinking of buying a brand new Chinese tractor, will elaborate on that later.
For all Olive lovers, here's some pictures shot yesterday at the field. After harvest season, now we are pruning the trees (we prune them every other year). Once done, I will plough the field myself , for the first time, with my yet-to-buy new tractor. This past season was not that great, around 800 litres of olive oil from 150 olive trees. last year it was great, around 1800 litres.
I used to live in Minnesota, now I am in North Africa, Tunisia, I miss a lot f things, but do not the snow.
