Hi all,

My name is Richard and am in the process of purchasing my first tractor, a 2013 Mahindra Max 28 XL 4WD with Shuttle transmission and a front loader. Also took advantage of dealer incentives and bought a 5' box scraper and a 5' standard duty cutter (brush hog?) I do not have a lot of property to maintain (4 acres) so do not need a large unit by any means. I will not go into my rational .for my purchase at this time, but feel confident that I made the right decision for me, as I am the one who has to live with it.

Being an older guy, but really new to this tractor stuff, I look forward to roaming the site to obtain tips and instructions on how to safely accomplish the tasks I wish to complete around my home. I believe it is best to learn from those who have done it before both successfully and not; there are lessons to be learned from both.

If you read enough on the topic here you will find that one of the most commonly given pieces of advice is only three words..."Low and Slow"...this is mostly directed at new FEL (loader) users...

Absolutely wonderful advice. Think I will get out my label maker and print one up that reads exactly that and find a place to display it prominently on my dashboard. Thanks for those words of wisdom.

Thanks to all who have sent welcome messages. Am anxiously awaiting the arrival of my new toy on Friday. Why is it that we are never really satisfied and even prior to getting something we are already thinking about how to modify it or add items to make it more suitable to our needs? Guess that is one of the traits that define us as humans
