1984 Ford 1710
Hello Everyone,

I purchased a 1984 Ford 1710 2WD this past week and enjoyed the heck out of it while mowing and planting food plots this weekend at our hunting club.

I have a question too: The rear diff is locked in and will not release. Anyone have a suggestion on how to get the rear pinion to let go? I have tried the hitting the brakes independently of each other as the manual suggested but no luck.

Thanks
Zoner

If driving in a straight line does not work, try coasting to a stop or backing up a foot or two.

First of all welcome. Try spraying some penetrating oil and letting it sit for awhile and then just try working it up and down to see if it frees up.
