although the Ruhrgebiet has changed a lot, western Germany with the Ruhrgebiet is the most densly populated area in Germany and still one of the largest industrial areas in the world. But there are nevertheless some quite nice small rural "Islands" in between. I for example live in a forest with almost 3 Acres and it only takes a 15 Minute drive to Duesseldorf, which is one of the nicest cities in Germany (.....well as i was Born here, i think so ;-).

Yep I've been to Duesseldorf. Very nice. There's a festival that's held there every year isn't there?

Well, we have several Festivals here. The Rheinland is well known for partying as much as possible ;-)

I can't remember what festival we used to go to around there now. My memory is a little foggy from all the beer I consumed . I can't remember if it was the Pig Festival or the Wine Festival we went to. The wine festival was in Bernkastel I believe. Dang I can't remember, went to so many different ones while I was there. Germany is such a blast. Got some great memories from back then. Hopefully I'll get to go back again one day.

Hi everyone,

have been lurking around for some time and finally registered as my search for a tractor is now over. I am living on appr. 3 acres right in the forest where the neanderthal remains were found. After playing around with the idea of buing a SCUT or CUT, i finally settled for a 2003 John Deere X495 with 1200 hours on it, as 90% of my work is mowing 2 acres. Unfortunately privately owned small tractors are quite rare here (unless classic oldtimers) and the price level overall is high compared to the US. Having a rear PTO and a capable 3 point hitch would have been great, but on the other hand i will be able to borrow a wood chipper and a log splitter from a friend/neighbor, so i guess i made the right decision. So far i am quite happy with the GT and mowing Performance is great.

I hope to find out more about handling and servicing my new toy and look forward to lurk a little more in this community.......

Nice to meet you. My friend is doing tractor attachment business and ATV business and Motor bike business in Buchholz, welcome to contact with me or him if you meet any problem.

:confused2: an few more Buchholz in Germany??? do you mean there are some other city with the same name of "Buchholz" in German??? My friend is in 21244 Buchholz.

Is this box blade fresh produced? few rust on it. and I think it's better if you should weld some blade on it.

So it seems every German is a engineer, even you can make something by yourself. So is this true that most tractor owner in German is good at making something?????

yes there are 86 City and Village with name Buchholz in Germay but the 21244 Buchholz ist the one near me.

The picture of the Blade was made after welding and first hook up for testing.
At first i was planning to bolt an Blade on it but after the first Testride and the fact that we have here in Norther Germany no Hard pan and only light and sandy soil with no rocks i doesn't do it.

Not every German is an Engineer but the most people like to make something with an high level on accuracy.
Before i went to the Landscape Business 17 Years ago i was trained mechanic for 14 Years
