Looked around the site a bit before signing up, appears to be a bunch of good people on here & I could spend a lot of time reading their post.
Recently acquired a 96 model JD 955 compact & love it so far, low hours, good power, 4WD, 60" deck, turf tires, everything seems to work as intended & I've yet to hear the governor kick in when cutting thick grass .... seems to be real good on fuel too.

Anyway, glad to be aboard

I guess that keeps you busy. Is it mostly open with just grass?

Mostly open on my property but add some fairly steep grades along the roadside & in front & the back tappers off & down towards a creek bed ... it can get interesting, especially after some heavy rain spells where you couldn't cut on schedule .... then all the sudden you have grass 2' tall in soft ground. Don't think I'll have to worry about getting stuck with the 955 when that happens. :thumbsup:

I have found that you can get stuck faster than you might think when the ground is soft. That is what the FEL is for. It has got me out many times. Once even buried up to the frame.
