New Loftness Head coming soon...

Loftness is making an old head new again. Those of you that have used or have seen a Timber Axe used..... Get ready for this. Loftness is going to offer a Timber Axe that spins backwards! Much like a Cimaf or a Tomax. Prelim tests seem to show that it is bad. I should have one soon, so I will let you know. More good news-If you have a G1 Carbide cutter, this new drum will fit right in the old carrier!

Doesn't the TimberAx already spin 'backwards' (in the opposite direction) compared to a carbide cutter head? Looking at it from the front, the TimberAx travels from bottom to top, a carbide cutter travels from top to bottom.

Or are you trying to say that the new TimberAx is going to spin backwards compared to the old TimberAx? In other words, the new TimberAx will spin in the same direction as a carbide cutter or GyroTrac head, but opposite of the current TimberAx?

Yes, sorry for the confusion. Backwards as compared to the normal timberax, or the same direction as the carbide cutter and the rest of the mulching world.

So, it will spin like a carbide head but wont be carbide? large steel/alloy knives or smaller steel/alloy?


I like the fact mine spins in the direction it does...I dont have to chase felled trees in reverse after the head pulls them between the tracks and under the machine..is that common for you carbide guys?..Seems that was happening to me when running a FAE and Magnum...

Interested to see what loftness has new, any idea when its coming?
