Quote: Curved loader arms and hood is not what I was refering to. This seems the norm now, and frankly I don't always like it.

Would you mind clueing us in on what you were referring to? I'm very curious about the new innovations.

Thanks,
Mark

Not till October. We hear things, somewhat definate things, but I don't want to make statements that end up being untrue.

There is a big, really cool change comming to the L-Series. If you can wait, it may not be a bad idea. Be aware that it will probably be next spring before the new models arrive and they likey will carry a higher price tag.

Have you seen them? I hope they still look like tractors or do they look like VW beetles now? Do they have a bunch of useless electronics to fail?

I would guess will have curved hood and loader.

From what I am hearing the hood will be curved, not sure about the loader. The new L seris will have a heavyer frame and the FEL's will not interchange. The new sereis will be designated L5040 etc. That should make for a lot of confusion because there is already a M5040 etc.

Here is the real scoop on the new models. On Tuesday I attended the Empire Farm Days and had the opportunity to ask the Kubota factory rep about the new models, He told me that he has seen the new models first hand and has also taken pictures, however, he was not allowed to show me the pictures but explained the changes. Here they are: The B21 is changed to the B26, bigger tractor, more HP, curved loader, excavator style backhoe, feature rich. The Grand L series has changed, curved loader and hood. He said that you almost have to set the tractors next to each other to notice the change. That really does not suggest any revolutionary changes as prevoiusly noted in an earlier post. The ZD series has changed slightly, more HP, foot activated hydraulic deck lift. No radical changes here also.

I expected that Kubota next line of Grand L's would incorporate the curved loader arms and more streamlined appearance. Maybe someone can explain to me what the true advantage of this is.. besides fashion I mean. Is it supposed to provide any power advantage? I guess it would improve visibility? When the "boomer" series started siphoning off customers from Kubota I anticipated this change. Just like the auto industry everyone seems to copy each other and you end up with curvy cars for 10 years then boxy cars for ten years.. then we're back to curvey cars.

But to tell you the truth, I prefer my tractor to look like a tractor, not a sports car.
