Flail Mower New Land Pride FM25 series flail mowers

I still have the FM 25-84 referenced in my earlier posts. It has been trouble free mechanically, although I haven't put a ton of hours on it. I reviewed my previous comments and haven't changed my mind about the conclusions. My tractor is a 55 hp. Case IH 55 CVT which is adequate but not overly so. I can't comment on the JD you plan to use as I'm not familiar with the specs.

This thread has been dormant for a while, and since I am about to pull the trigger on a Land Pride FM25-84 I am hoping someone may have had some experience with that unit. I will be powering with JD 4066R, and hoping to be abe to use E-PTO if I don't let the fields go too long between cuttings. Mostly pastures with not much other than an occasional down limb. Located in west middle AL., so terrain is not terrible.
Thoughts and or suggestions?

Spend your hard earned money on the John Deere 290 flail mower or the
John Deere 390 if your mule can lift it.

The John Deere 290 or John Deere 390 flail mower will provide you with a
trouble free drive system with a three row finish cut side slicer knives that
will be easy to sharpen with a Micromark wet well grinder.

Before Land Pride was swallowed whole by kubota they entered the flail mower
market and imported MASCHIO flail mowers in Land Pride paint.

I do not think the kubota made flail mowers are of the same quality of build as
the MASCHIO Flail Shredders that is why I think you should invest in a John
Deere 290 or 390 flail mower.

Appreciate your feedback, the JD is 66HP with 57HP PTO rating. So I should be ok, but like you adequate power just not great.
