Planning to use the new Koadiak Brush hog this weekend, any do's and donts.?

plan is to

do basic walkabout before i cut (find hidden obstacles )
PTO Runs at about 540,
Engage at low RPM over already cut area
take it slow
I figure i should be able to cut anything i can actually pull the mower over (ie 1/2 - 3/4 " tag Alder saplings etc...

any other advice (im noe to Tractors too)?

when i bush hog a new area i curl my bucket up and keep it a couple of inches off the ground, that way if there's a rock sticking out the bucket will hit it first and you'll know to lift the mower. and if it's new make sure there's oil in gearbox , some come empty new

^good advice.

Sometimes with real thick brush I'll back into it to protect the front end of the tractor from impalement. Stay in low gear in the brush and keep those rpm's up.

Best of luck with your new purchase...our used Brush Hog was one of our best investments.
