New Iseki TA210

Hello,
Well, I just bought an Iseki TA210 4 WD Grey market tractor at an Estate sale and I could not be more pleased with it. It has a great flat deck and power steering. I got rid of my old Ford 2N and what a change. I feel I entered a whole new world of tractor power.
Now I would like to purchase some stuff for it. I am shopping for a loader, box scraper, rear mower and a parts manual. I would like to purchase the implements from a dealer who is familiar with Iseki tractors. The location anywhere in the country is not a problem because I work for a nationwide shipping company and I can have it picked up anywhere in the lower 48 states.
Additionally, I would like to find a parts dealer who has some experience with finding parts for Iseki tractors.

I just picked up an Iseki TA262 and a TA270. Both are on the same frame as the TA210. A loader for a Massey 1240 will bolt right on. The parts manual will be slow coming, but probably available from someone like Len Scheaffer. Any 3 point mower will fit. They are the smoothest of the tractors I have handled. There is another guy on the Massey board with a TA210 2wd. He helped me find filter numbers etc.

Here is the previous post I put up that Kaysupply is referring too... you will enjoy the TA 210 tractor..very solid and dependable... only changes since the bottom poost are I completely wired the tractor with rear lights... I used universal automotive rear sockets and installed behind the rear fender lens and put beehive yellow lights on the ROPS/ROOF assembly, these are connected through a toggle switch mounted on the driver rear fender. I also had previously added a rear utility light on the opposited fender in the plastic insert...I also put in a 12V utility socket (similar to a cigarette lighter) and have a rotating yellow light with a magnetic base I can put on top of the roof when I plow snow at nightime or early in the morning....

"Yes, I changed all fluids and filters immediately upon purchase. For the Transmission/Hydraulics/Wet Brakes I used Mobil 424 Universal Hydraulic Fluid and a Napa 1664 Hydraulic filter. I have now purchased my next filter, cross referenced the Napa to a Baldwin BT 260-10 (10 is for 10 micron) which I will install on the next fluid change. I am probably going to go with either Citgo Transgard Universal or Citgo Mystic JT-5 for the Fluid on the next change. My transmission housing is stamped TA210-3 and as far as I can tell only has one large drain plug hole. When I drained it, I took out 5 gallons, which is what it is advertised to hold. It is also located at the lowest portion of the transmission, so I believe it is the proper release point. Believe most recommendations call for a change in the 150 - 200 hour range... Not sure and cannot guarantee the following numbers apply for your tractor as they are from the Japanese Parts Manual for the TA 210... You can run most of these numbers through the online cross reference features of most of the Filter Manufactures web sites....

I am currently using Citgo Mystic JT-8 Heavy Duty 10W30 oil in the winter, and 15W40 in the summer. I use Ag Dyed Diesel that I buy at the local Cenex Co-op and add Power Service Diesel Supplement at 3.2 ounces @ 5 Gallons of diesel which is the recommended full strength for anti gelling in the winter and year around centane boost and fuel injector lubrication.

I installed an overrun clutch on the PTO to assist with mowing due to the transmission setup. I'm using a First Choice 5 ft. rear discharge in Blue that matches very well with the color. Thats really about it, I have not had one problem with my tractor. It starts every time and runs great...."

I forgot to answer several of your other questions... as noted in my post, I have a First Choice Mower... I went with this mower because it was getting good reviews earlier this year as it was just expanding it's distribution... I have been very pleased with it, it runs flawlessly and cut's very nice... I put Mobil 1 Gear Oil in the transmission housing... I was fortunate that the Hoye Bros. have one of their locations about 50 miles from me in Villisca, Iowa, so I picked it up there.. I wanted a mower that was close in color to the Iseki and First Choice has a blue model... I went with the 5 foot for ease of manuevering... depending on your situation, it will handle a 72" inch fine also..... I went with a TSC rear Blade... not fancy but does the job..... very solidly built... you have plenty of choices.. again, mine is for light duty snow removal only... so depending on what you want to do, that should be your guide..... There are a number of Iseki Folks that can help with parts, manuals etc... These folks have websites, just do a web search with there name and tractor and you can locate, if not, let me know...Hoye Bros (Iowa & Texas), Sutton Tractor (Oklahoma) , EFC (Idaho), and of course Len Shaeffer(Illinois) who has been very helpful to many folks.... I personally bought mine from Sutton...but again, have had the tractor for over 1 year with 450 real hours on it and I have not had one problem... I have put on 75 hours...

What is an Iseki TA210 in good condition worth? I had a chance to import two of them, but the exporter wanted $4,800 per tractor. That seemed rather high to me...

Not sure really, depends on condition, 4WD or 2WD, what you would want to make on the resale ofcourse... I would think in decent condition a 2WD would go in the $4500 range.. Reconditioned fully ie repaint, fix etc.. ...$5,000.... the 4WD, $5500/$6,000.... so depending on what he was selling you, maybe so, maybe not.....

Be careful with the 10 micron hyd. filter. Massey recomends a wire mesh filter. I have heard from other dealers that if you use too fine a filter it will cause flow problems in the hydraulic system that can cause permanent damage. Just food for thought.

Thank you very much for the very helpful responses! The Iseki 210F is really a great tractor.
I got a chance to compare it to my neighbors JD 4100 this morning and we both agreed that it is as good or better tractor. Just for fun, we connected a chain to see which tractor was stronger and I pulled him all over his yard and up a good hill before he gave up.
Surge, If possible could you answer a few more questions? Did you install a loader on your tractor and if so, which brand? Did any of these dealers give you an indication of how difficult it will be to get parts for these Japanese tractors?

Sorry, cannot help you there, I do not have or ever have any plans to have a FEL....just really no need at my place or for my applications. My 4 acre's is on top of a fairly wide ridge overlooking the Platte River and is essentially flat where I mow... For the past few years, we generally have received very little snow here, (less than 1 inch so far this season) occasional dumps in February, March and April but generally it is blowing pretty good and being up on the top of this hill you have drifting and bare spots anyway.... I have found the rear 60" Blade handles all of my needs... other than that I just mow "alot" of grass on flat ground....
Good therapy I might add... you really dont think about too much else when you are mowing.... On the parts, no, they thought it would be quite easy... remember, these essentially have the same parts as Massey's and Agco's... get the manual or you can just call when of the dealers I mentioned earlier and they will cross reference the part... this would be for most things mechnical... now if it is a cosmetic part, that would need to be ordered from Japan in blue... order a Massey here and repaint it blue, or if it is a black part, it will just fit fine..... Remember, most of these are 10 or less years old..mine is a 1993 model... many of the other Iseki's still coming in are early or mid 80's, and they can still get parts for those...

A couple of simply examples are the rear tailight assembly..they still use the same one today on the Agco's and Caterpillers, exactly... or the rubber floor mat, or the glass piece in the mud guard on the platform...

There is one actual Iseki Dealer in the United States... The only one authorized is Rainbow Tractor in Hawaii... I suppose since it is a remote region...They can get you parts from Japan directly.... remember though that the TA210 was not marketed outside Japan... they just use many of the same parts as models that were....

Give it a test... call one of the folks and see... actually buy a fairly simple preventive maintenance part that won't set you back too much, such as a molded radiator hose, or wheel bearing... and see how long it takes.

This was taken at my importer's lot. I took the Iseki home and wanted the big Hino in the back. My mentor that got me started in the grey business wanted it for his own use so I passed on it. It was really neat. It was an N329. It has push button 4x4, power steering, and was BIG. In compact terms anyway. He has already had it in mud up to the floor pans.

I purchased that N209 and it should arrive in a couple of months. Are you familar with the filter numbers, especially for the fuel and oil (air and hydraulic also)? If the filters are the same as the E2304, I have those numbers...

The air filter is different. I have the N189 and N239 numbers.
The N189 uses a 6270 air but I never did match up the N239 air filter. The fuel is the same in the 2304 and N189 but the N239 uses 3390 fuel. The 1712 and 1174 filters fit the upper and lower on both N tractors. I have both parts manuals if they would help.

Thanks for the information. I should receive the parts manual for the N209 when it arrives. Do you know what engine oil filter the other N's use, or was that the 1712? I like to change the fuel and oil, including the filters, as soon as I unload the tractor from the container.
