Mowing New Idea Mower Lot 70

Hi, Folks!

I picked up this mower and tried it out over the weekend. So far so good considering I hadn't mowed with a sickle bar since HS!

Anyone know what keeps the blade from falling out of the bar when in transport position? The PO had the pitman roped to the frame. Also, is there an oil bath for any gears that need to be checked? I think I found all the grease zerks. As you can probably tell, I haven't found an owners manual yet.

The Lot No on your mower is the year it was produced. The New Idea Repair Parts List for that model will have a list of Lot Numbers with the corresponding year that lot was built. A general description of the mower would help narrowing down what model mower you have.
