New Hustler Super Z

I just recently bought a Land Pride AccuZ 72" same as Super Z with slightly different paint. I love it. Absolutely fantastic machine. I compared it to the competition and felt it was the superior machine. Many I've told about the purchase say what the heck did I do, but one test drive and they will know why.

Yeh, I do remember hearing that Hustler makes the Landpride ZTR. Usually Landpride is very good but a little pricey on their stuff. How did their prices line up with a Hustler Super Z?

I think Grasshopper makes the Woods mowin machine. Toro and Exmark I believe are the same machine but different deck (or used to be).

I mowed with it again yesterday and thought to check the tire pressure and they were set too high, between 15 and 20 psi. I lowered them to 9 (8-10 recommended) and that made a huge difference in bumpiness. I was able to get done about a half hour faster. I can't wait till the flex forks get here.

Well, I got the flex forks today and put them on. I drove around in the yard and I don't know if I am going to like them. They seem a little too bouncy, at least on my yard. In the front yard that has smaller bumps they work great but the back yard has larger "humps." It used to be a cow pasture years ago and it is on the side of a hill so it has the ridges where the cattle walked. Kinda like little rolling hills. The mower gets to bouncing as it goes over them. I got to bouncing so much it almost made me nauseus. :p Before that wasn't even the rough part.

The Landpride mower I got was a 72" w/ Honda power. It was $7800.00 out the door. That just about beats all the competition not to mention so does the mower. My dealer said the deck on the Landpride is a little beafier than on the Hustler. I looked at some Hustlers the other day and I gotta agree.
I let a commercial guy try out my mower last week and he was majorly impressed. Liked it way better than his Exmark. Wanted to know where to get one. My neighbor has an Exmark and quality of cut ain't even close to the Landpride.

The landpride was the same as the Z not the Super Z. Hustler hasn't made them for Landpride in a few years. The Kubota dealer I got mine from had some landprides as well but they didn't look quite as heavy duty to me. I am not sure who is making them now.

You are correct in that it is the same as a Z I found out. That turns out to be good as the SuperZ even though its fast it lacks hill climbing ability. Mine is an 06 72" cut. My neihbor has a Kubota and it doesn't look anything close to this Landpride in durability. MY dealer told me Landpride beafs up their version in a few areas but I can't confirm that. My Z has no trouble going up any grade even a 1:1 slope. I was sold the minute I drove it. Nothing compares to the smoothness and the cut is top rate. Not bad at $7800.00 out the door for 72" cut. Also I really like the deck design, its got nice rounded corners and alot of welded reinforcments all over and underneath.

Well I hope I didn't steer you wrong. But I know what you mean by they will bounce a little on you. I have some rough areas I have to slow up a little to keep it from bouncing but I would rather slow up a little than have my equipment take the beating. I think they save a lot of jarring on your equipment. I still like mine I think my yard would jar my fillings out without them. I drove my Garden tractor over a rough area and then jumped on my Huslter. The Hustler was alot better ride.

I really haven't had a chance to mow with them yet so I will see how they do with actual use. I was just driving around so maybe it is because I was going faster than normal, I don't know. I had already decided on getting some eventually so you didn't cause it.:D

I finally got a chance to mow today and I have to say the flex forks are an improvement. I was going at a more realistic speed while mowing and it smothed out the ride quite a bit. As for the hill climbing ability, mine has plenty. I have a 30hp Kohler on it and it does very well going up the hills on my property. The ones with the smaller engines may not be as good going up hills but this one does great. With the bigger hydraulics you need a bigger moter, makes sense to me. I also don't see why you would need to beef up the XR7 deck very much. Anything else would just be extra weight IMO. I would be thrown off the mower before the deck would bend if I hit something I think. :D
