Hi,

Saw what appears to be a very good deal on a New Holland 65 HP tractor on CL. Let's assume it's a legit ad (I have not contacted the seller but he had another ad advertising his services with the same tractor). Just seems like a lot of tractor (w/low hours) for the money. Thanks

Well, it's 14 years old. The Turf tires would be a deal breaker for 95% of buyers which would drive price down. Might not be that far off.

Looks like a nice tractor for a fair price. I've seen as low as $10.5K for a nicely kept 45hp gear tractor of similar age. I've seen as low as $13.5K for a similar age/hour 55hp tractor. $15.5K this NH 65hp tractor with hydraulic reverser, front and rear remotes, and the 4 in 1 bucket would also rank up there as one of the better deals I have seen.

I agree with Richard that turf tires will limit the market for this tractor and that will help the buyer get a better price. If the buyer is someone who would prefer turfs anyway, this looks like a good deal assuming the tractor is sound.

It's only a deal if the buyer wants/needs R3 tires. Converting it to R1 or R4 would bring the price back to reality in a hurry.

For reference, I priced replacing the R4s on my TC40DA with R1s and it came back at $3500. If you want the turf tires, that's irrelevant but, if you want R1 or R4, it's something to consider.

That makes sense, tires are super expensive. For my purposes I would probably be interested in the turf tires so it would work in my favor.

I think I would prefer turf tires - obviously for lawn grading, aeration, etc. turf tires would be preferable. What about for construction (i.e. prepping for driveways, garages, home additions, etc., assuming a backhoe was added later)?

Very helpful, thank you! I took a quick look on tractor house and didn't see anything close in the price range for sale. I would probably prefer turf tires anyways.
