Wow! That's a lotta work, but you did a great job.:thumbsup: That cap almost looks like the cap from a tube of sealant or a debris cover from the end of a metal tube. You don't recon it might be part of the fuel float assy do you?

Thank you for the kind words, I greatly appreciate the help. The family is really happy because we wont spend another $600 min to get the tractor mechanic out...
The cap does have a tube sealant look and feel to it, however the cap appears to have a bit thicker wall to it than most sealant caps that I have seen. It also does not have any grooves on the inside to grab on to the tube nozzle. Then again the cap could be from a tube of sealant, it's very plausible, I'm not entirely sure.

The hairs on the back of my neck stood up as I read, "might be part of the fuel float assy," I hope not. LOL... I pulled the fuel float assembly out after draining the tank, everything looked ok, as if nothing was missing. But I'm too new to know what normal looks like...I'm contemplating pulling it out again, but I also don't want to mess with something that is working ok even though not at 100%

Heads up in case anyone here is actually contemplating vacuuming out a fuel tank with an ELECTRICLY run vacuum unit.
Those fumes are EXPLOSIVE!
ELECTRIC MOTORS inless sealed produce sparks, most shop vacs exhaust past/through the motor.....NOT SEALED! BOOM!!!!!!!!
Do not, DO NOT vacuum out a fuel tank of any type unless you know absolutely what you're doing.
