Hello everyone, im having some fuel issues on my 2002 New Holland tc45d the tractor has about 3,360 hours on it. the fuel filter is in a clear plastic housing so you can see if the fuel filter is full or not well when your running it there is only a little bit of fuel at the bottom so if you rev it quickly or hit a steep hill it will cut off. It used to always be full while running the tractor. Yes the tractor has plenty of fuel and yes I have the fuel shutoff valve in the on position. this has been happening for the past few months now. So far ive cleaned the fuel tank blew compressed air through the fuel lines to see if they were blocked I replaced the mechanical fuel lift pump the fuel filter and the O ring that sits on the fuel filter housing. the only thing ive done that has helped is I took off the steel return line that goes from each fuel injector and I cleaned that out and blew compressed air through it. that helped for about a month then the problem came back so I took it back off and cleaned it again but no luck that time. if anyone has had this problem before or has any idea I would really appreciate the help. Thank you.

Line from tank to filter pinched? Vent working? Less than full fuel bowl is a problem with the tank, cap, vent, supply line or filter head. Nothing else.

So i checked the vent or return line that runs back to the fuel tank and concluded that it was venting properly. I removed main fuel supply line and it was starting to collapse in a few spots so i grabbed some diesel grade rubber fuel line and replaced the whole line. Ran it for 10 mins and it started to lose fuel in the fuel bowl again. I filled it back up removed the fuel cap and let it run for another 10 mins and it stayed full. I put the cap back on and it began to start losing fuel again took cap back off but its still losing fuel in the fuel bowl as we speak.

You may need to pull the tank and clean it out. You may have to vacuum it out from the top. When you remove the tank it is possible to open the area where the lines go in (at least it is on our TC40D) which gives you a large enough hole to work in.

Been there - done that
