If by "hydro steer" you really mean "supersteer," then your basic tractor without the Backhoe and mid-mount mower should be priced below $23,000. That means you are paying over $13,000 for a BH and MMM. Ouch! I think your price is at least $3,000 too much. This is "ballpark" numbers and someone else may have more specific info. My recommendation is for you to keep looking and negotiating. I sure think you can beat that price. Good luck. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Hemmerich:

I paid approximately $27.5k (plus sales tax) for a TC40, 16LA (same as 17LA), quick detach mount (to use skid steer/bobcat front implements), HD bucket w-hooks, NH 758c BH w-18" & 36" bucket, rear remotes, parts & shop manuals, proper guages (oil pressure, volt meter) & some other stuff standard on the "D" version that doesn't come with the geared version (such as folding ROPS, deluxe 3pt, steps, toolbox, rear worklight, etc.). I could have purchased the "D" version for $1,500 more but I would actually have paid more not to get an HST. I have no idea how much extra the "supersteer" is. I was considering getting the "deluxe" seat, but after 100+ hrs don't feel it would be of any use (at least for me). R4's are standard - it's the R1's that cost extra (or at least that's what I was told).

What are you planning to do with this machine? Supersteer with a BH??? Also, I would suggest that you not purchase strictly on dollars. You may have to go back to the purchasing dealer for service & other things. I spent more time in the service area than I did with the salesman before I bought.

I've got a 35D w/ 84"MMM, R4, 1 remote, arm rests, block heater, and 2 front weights for just under $21,000.
Add
40D over 35D =1500
9000 hoe w/sub and pto = 7500
Loader = 4000
total $34,000

There is a dealer near here that has a new 9000 hoe w/ 3 pt hook up for $4995, extra bucket $600, subframe $1000 +/-, I don't think u would need a pto kit w/ the 40D.
So u could save some more money.
I run my 9000 hoe on my Deere SSL and anything above a smooth idle it is FLYING.
What part of KY do u live?

Thanks. I have a four hundred foot ditch that I have to widen for water flow and slope to accomodate mowing. Most of the time I would use the tractor to finish mow six acres. My idea is to apply the money saved by "doing it myself" to the backhoe cost. I can do a little bit at a time. All of the removed dirt would go across the street to a friends ditch that needs to be narrowed. My mother has big dump truck that I could use to move the dirt across the street. Sounds like a plan, doesn't it.

Depending upon the dealer, supersteer, I called it hydro steer accidently, ranges from $1,000 to $1,500.

The dealer has stated a three point hitch BH is not recommended and that they had a client put one on a tractor against their recommendation and he broke the tractor in half.

I agree that a tractor should not be purchased using the lowest bidder philosophy. I want the dealer to stay in business to support my tractor. Of course, one must make sure they know how much the dealer wants for this support. The R4's may be standard, I don't know. Last year when I was looking they were an option at about $1,400. This price was the same between dealers.

I will compare your cost analysis data with my prices and determine whats what.

Thanks for your feedback.

Just to settle the debate on the tires...... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Class 3 Boomers are offered with a small set of R1's as "standard" equipment. These tires are not recommended for loader work. The optional R1's are a much taller and wider tire and work fine with a loader but they are more expensive than R4's. In the texas are that is why most dealers are stocking the tractors with R4's people general like the width and height offered on the R4's and they can drive on thier lawns with out worrying about ripping thier turf.

Thanks for the feedback. I think my dealers a bit high. I live in Burlington, Ky right near the Northern Ky Airport that everyone refers to as the Cincinnati airport.

If you have a dealer name pls email it to me at bruce.hemmerich@insightbb.com.

Other than price, I'm concerned about how long it will take to completely remove the backhoe subframe from the tractor. I can't use a MMM with the backhoe subframe attached.

I'll let you know what happens.

Yes, the R4s provide better traction then the turf tires and still don't rip up the lawn. What is a class 1 or 2 tractor?

Thanks
