New Holland Rear remote

called one dealer today about adding one remote. (2 ports) his phone quote was $253 plus tax. He said one hour labor for their shop. I asked if it had good directions for self install he said "new holland assumed you have been through their tech school to do it". I was wondering how hard it would to do by-self. I put a loader on old jd by myself. also is $253 decent price can I do better. any internet sources?

My Mahindra dealer was dumbfounded that I wanted to do this. I have a 2810 and they don't come with rear hydraulics. "Oh that's very complicated" he said. "It'll probably run you more than $600" /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif. That came from the same person who quoted me $1300 for a landscape rake. YEEEAAHHH OK, I'll be right down.

253.00 is list price. The hour to install the valve is correct, but having to be a tech to do it, is a bit of an stretch! This is very easy to install.

I agree with Spencer200. New holland has done an excellent job of engineering the parts for this to be considered a "do it yourself" job. I added it to my TC29D. I was impressed with the way the kit parts fit. If you follow the thread listed above, you get a good idea of how easy it really is. Go for the seat time /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif !

I installed my own set of remotes on my TC40D and as Boomerboy said it is well engineered for a do it yourself job with some mechanical aptitude, the hardest thing for me was reinstalling the rear tire.

Certainly not complicated for someone with average skills; the instructions are clear and detailed. I installed one on a TC40 (gear) with a Bradco hoe installed on Thursday. Not necessary or even helpful to remove the right rear on non-"D" Class III tractors. Took me about 1.25hrs, the hoe hindered me somewhat, but not enough to warrant removing it.
