Hello, does anyone know how to get the string tension on a new holland baler to be the same on both sides, the strings on the shoot side of the bales are slacker than the ones on the other side and I can't see anyway to ajust the tension. Thanks Syd.

What model of NH baler do you have?

Forget twine tension; that's not your problem. Get out your operator's manual and read up on making adjustments to bale shape. You aren't getting enough hay into the side of the chamber with the "loose twine".
No manual? Call 1-800-635-4913 with a credit card in hand and order one. You are going to be surprised how cheap they are, and how much info is contained in them.

Hi, it's a sperry - new holland. The model number is C270IRU82782. I'll see about getting an operators manual too. Thanks for your advice, Syd.

Knives may need to be sharpened. You may also have a hay moving finger broke or missing. Ken Sweet

just tighten the bale tensionor on which ever side the string is loose on and see if that dont help any

Another thing to check are the 4 anti-backup fingers. They have torsion springs on them that hold the compressed hay in the bale chamber between plunges.
