I use an old New Holland square baler, model 275, and I need to replace some of the pickup fingers. My problem is that when I install the new one, I have a hard time getting it adjusted so that it has the required amount of free-play in it, allowing it to move a little.
Any ideas from some old baler heads? Many thanks.

I don't have any quick answers, but, do offer a sympathetic ear as I'm tryin' to make a old NH 269 baler come back to life and it's been a struggle. I currently have the plunger removed for rebuilding. The pick up is the one last area that I haven't rebuilt, but may be on the list next. Hopefully you'll get some good NH advice here. bjr

I did not think they were supposed to wiggle.

I finally figured out that the reason the old ones wiggled was because they were worn. The new ones are snug. Thanks.
