New Holand 1720 Coments

Just picked up a 81 1720 4x4 yesterday. Using a 6ft finishing mower behind . Any one have any coments on this tractor good or bad I would like yo hear them.

I had a 1720 years ago, it was buttet proof. I put 1600 hrs on it with no probs.

One of Ford's best. Right up with the 8N. But they didn't start making the 1720 until 1986. Ford made the 1700 from 1979-1982. Then the 1710 from 1982-1986. Then the 1720 from 1986-2000.

My 1720 was a 1996. Again, it was excellent.

I have a Ford 1720. It is a very reliable, solid machine.

The 1720 I was refering to is a New Holand. I know Ford also has a 1720 but there seems to be some difference between the them. It is for sure a 1981

Something is not right! Maybe someone has messed with the decals or nameplate.

The Ford/Newholand 1720 is the exact same tractor as the Ford1720. What makes you think there is somthing different.

I know the Ford and New Holland are the same, but the OP said it's an '81 New Holland. The years don't match up. Since Ford purchased New Holland in 1985, the New Holland label wouldn't show up until then or after. My 1510 is an '85 and only has Ford logos on it. My guess newer decals put on an older tractor to dress it up. No problem with that as such, just makes it confusing. :confused2:

From tractordata.com, not always 100% accurate, but a good place to start:
1700 = 1979-1982
1710 = 1983-1986
1720 = 1987-2000

Just trying to figure out what tractor we're really talking about.
