Well, I thought I should go ahead and say hey and introduce myself. My name is Russ and I drive a 64f100 and a YM2200. I've got 4 acres in central Fl. I've been hanging around this site for awhile and finally decided to register. I've already learned alot from this site and love it when the discussions start drifting into who knows where?
From what I've read here and other places, I get the impression that the YM2200 is one of the oddball Yanmar or at least a little more rare than most. Is this an accurate statement?
I can say that I have owned mine since '01 and have put about 200 hs. on it with absolutly no problems.
I'm not sure I will have anything to offer but I sure appreciate reading what you folks discuss. Thanks for just telling it like it is.

Welcome to the site Russ. You will find a lot of help with problems you might have with your Yanmar. There is a world of knowledge on this forum.

By the way, what part of Central Florida are you from? We snowbird in Central Florida during January and February.

Yeah.....that's a pretty fair statement. I think it was a one year only model and, although a good tractor, parts are scarce.

As with any Yanmar good maintenance will make it last decades .

Welcome!

Hi Russ. Welcome to the group. It's very interesting to me. I drive a 66 F100! What a great old truck.

The YM2200, and several others, are older than the bulk of what is imported. Parts are less available, though there is better parts support for it now from aftermarket than there was from any source 5 years ago. It is not a model we would recommend, solely based on the parts support, but there is no inherent problem with it. If you need parts, we can get you anything that is available from the aftermarket catalog, including engine rebuild parts.
