Welcome to the forum.
Here on the farm we owned a couple of 800's ( a two wheel trike and a wide row crop front axle) as well as a 640 and 671 in the aprx era that yours was manufactured.

BTW. What is 'unfarmerized'? Should I be insulted ?? :D

800's are 4 wheeled ag chassis.

900 ( and 700 ) are the trike chassis ( single or dual front, or factory or aftermarket wide front. But if it was a trike.. it wasn't an 800..

Thanks, Soundguy! For some reason I always assumed they were both 800's.

By 1960 I was 9 years old when we bought our first diesel powered tractors. Fordson Dexta and Major followed by a couple of 3000's in the mid 60's. I guess my memory wasn't as good back then or I just wasn't observant (or both)

By the time ford hit 1955, they were done with the single series in production, and went to many models of multiple series, so easy to mix up.

Thanks, Chris.
I DO recall being unable to climb up onto the 8-900's. The 640 was installed with Arps half tracks, so it wasn't a problem for a little guy like me. :)

heck.. many of my 9xx tractors have steps installed to help get up on since the set a bit higher... not to mention I like to stick tall tires on like 14.9-28's

Here's my every week 'lawnmower' a partly 1955 ford 950 'put together' tractor that I assembled from many odds N ends.

Some front sheet metal is off a buddies 01 diesel, engine is from a LP gas model. Front pedistal is the early style 1 piece. Fuel tank is from ? something 55-64. Radiator is from some small import CAR that I used magic and hose adapters to get to fit in. Generator is from that same buddies diesel, making it a stealth 12v conversion as diesel prior models were 12v. Currently it has a manifold and muffler off a 2000 prior model after I hit a limb. carb is from some 134ci model that I customized to run ok on a 172. Pto shaft is from some 55-64 model that I rebuilt and had on the shelf... same with starter.. a spare I had. Front wheels and tires are take-offs from an 8n. And on and on. Like I said. it's a reverse parts machine. A frankenstein. had to make a few of the brackets for the head and gas tank as this think had bolts and studs broke off and in her all over, including a few holes stripped out, especially onthe front of the head were fuel tank brackets bolt. Some holes I was able to drill and save threads.. some I drilled out larger and tapped oem, some I had to just bridge with a custom bracket and find other holes. Air cleaner is wrong. front bumper is actually a ag model bumper I torched the arms off and then welded a central mount that would fit the front bolt pattern on the front pedistal. Step on the running board is actually one I made to fit the bolt pattern on a JD letter series rear axle, but never used so reworked to bolt on to help get on.

I think the rear fenders are original. :)

When I was little I had to sit on those fenders to watch that all the seeder drive wheels were turning while my dad drove.
No electronic seed monitoring systems back then. Or safety police. Haha :D

All later tractors were spec'd with 16.9 and 18.4 X 38 row crop tires.
