New grapple won’t fit

Just got possession of a new hd grapple for my JD 4720. Also got pallet forks from same manufacturer. The grapple will not attach. It’s about 1/8” off and no matter what I do I cannot get the lower left pin through to my loader. The one time I did the right side would kid be out. It has the JD quick hitch style. Any tips or fixes?

I’m going to call them tomorrow, but what can I realistically expect? Can’t see shipping back and getting a new one. Dunno. Frustrating.

I'm not familiar with how the attachment is configured but for conventional methods,a torch and welder should take care of it. Just balance cost of alteration against what they will refund to save paying 2 way shipping. It's also possible mounting points on your loader are at fault instead of new grapple.

the forks fit but the grapple does not. is that right? what does the manufacturer say?

Forks fit. Oem bucket fits. Haven’t talked to manufacturer yet. I’m sure they will make it right.

How about posting a couple pics of the problem area - maybe something can be done without shipping it back?

Good chance someone ground/cut something out and failed to put jig on before rewelding. Don't ask how I know things move when heated.:duh:

Agreed. A good company will work with you to make it right and they should have no qualms about covering return shipping. Some of us are able to work with the mfg for a quick fix because we’re understanding fellas but let them do the talking first to make it right to satisfy you.

Agreed. Mistakes happen. It is how the manufacturers/dealers deal with them that sets them apart. Do not agree you should grind/weld/whatever to solve the problem. Many people do not have the ability to do that. In an emergency...different...do what it takes. If you have to fix it, a reasonable refund should be requested.

You should not be expected to pay shipping if you return them.

The only fix is top cut one pin off and put it back on in the right location, Which one won稚 really matter unless you want a different tractor or sell the grapple.

I recently bought a blank 3/8" thick SSQA plate to make a front snow plow. It was out of spec and wouldn't go on my tractor. The manufacturer replaced it and paid return shipping on the defective plate, and shipped the new plate at their expense. While it was a pain when it interfered with my scheduled plans, Titan deserves credit for treating me right.
