Last year I replaced my concrete garage floor at my house. It was highly polished then sealed it with GHOSTSHIELD SILOXA-TEK 8500 which is a water & salt repellent.
Water beads up on sealer and is easily pushed out with a squeegee but is very slippery.
I’ve googled solutions and do not want to use Muriatic acid to etch.
There are epoxy coatings with grit and other paint products.
I not sure how these will adhere to my sealed concrete.
Looking for professional guidance.
Thanks

I don't know what adhere to your sealed concrete, but you can buy garage floor mats.

I had the same problem with my garage floor. I put a new coat of sealer on it, and threw some fine flooring sand on it while still wet.

The good: it solved the slippery problem
The bad: the floor squeegee got chewed up by the abrasive sand finish

Daich Coatings Trac Safe should work

Good idea. I think even a cheap carpet runner would work.

For sure, get something down before the old folks come to visit.

I choose to have a smooth finish on my garage floor. BIG MISTAKE. In Alaska the vehicles would bring in snow and ice. Then it would melt and water on this slick surface.

The contractor came back - laughing. Put down some type of a clear poly coating with VERY FINE plastic grit mixed in and scattered on top, also. It worked OK. Wish I would have had him "rough coat" the wet concrete to start with.

I would ask a pro about the required prep for any type epoxy top coat. It might require some form of roughing the concrete first.

May I ask how you replaced your concrete floor and what it cost? Was the old concrete removed completely or just resurfaced?

My 40 year old concrete garage floor has spalled from salt dripping off vehicles in Winter. It's still structurally sound and I'm wondering whether to replace or resurface. I'm also considering the sectional rubber mats that are used to cover minor surface flaws.

Contact Larry Taylor Jr, Sherwin Williams. He's the protective coating specialist. He can steer you the right way. Did a floor coating for a senator's son at an old plantation. Worked very well. Mention Frog Level, he'll know.
